Abstract
Spinalnom ozljedom zovemo svako oštećenje leđne moždine koje ometa komunikaciju između mozga i tijela. Ozljede leđne moždine mogu se podijeliti na traumatske i netraumatske. Također se dijele na potpune i nepotpune. Klasifikacija ozljeda vrši se prema ASIA sistemu klasifikacije. U današnje vrijeme ozljede kralježnične moždine su sve učestalije posebice kod mlađih osoba. Bolesnici s ozljedom kralježnične moždine često imaju trajne i teške neurološke deficite ili invaliditet. Oporavak nakon takvih oštećenja može biti dug, a kod nekih bolesnika i cijelo životni proces. Liječenje spinalne ozljede je kompleksno i dugotrajno. Rehabilitaciju provodi multidisciplinarni tim stručnjaka u suradnji s pacijentom i njegovom obitelji. Neurofizioterapija se temelji na korištenju neuroplasticiteta središnjeg živčanog sustava kroz različite fizioterapijske vještine, tehnike i koncepte. Kompleksnost rehabilitacije osoba sa spinalnom ozljedom prikazana je kroz specifičnosti fizioterapijske procjene i intervencije.
Abstract (english)
A spinal cord injury is any damage to the spinal cord that interferes with communication between the brain and the body. Spinal cord injuries can be divided into traumatic and non-traumatic. They are also divided into complete and incomplete. Injuries are classified according to the ASIA classification system. Nowadays, spinal cord injuries are more and more frequent, especially among younger people. Patients with spinal cord injury often have permanent and severe neurological deficits or disability. Recovery after such damage can be long, and in some patients it can take a lifetime. Spinal injury treatment is complex and long-term. Rehabilitation is carried out by a multidisciplinary team of experts in cooperation with the patient and his family. Neurophysiotherapy is based on the use of neuroplasticity of the central nervous system through various physiotherapy skills, techniques and concepts. The complexity of the rehabilitation of persons with a spinal injury is shown through the specifics of physiotherapy assessment and intervention.
