Abstract
Lezija plexusa brachialisa pri rođenju najčešće nastaje zbog manipulacije glavom tijekom poroda. Klinički znakovi su kriteriji po kojima se određuje konzervativno ili operativno liječenje. Porođajna paraliza plexusa brachialisa javlja se kod 0.38 do 3 na 1000 porođaja u razvijenijim državama, a u nerazvijenim državama i zemljama koje se razvijaju, javlja se kod 5 na 1000 živorođene djece. Faktori za nastanak oštećenja su uglavnom prenatalni i majka ne može utjecati na njih. Ozbiljnost lezije ovisi o broju živaca koji su zahvaćeni i količini oštećenja pojedinog živca. Na tijek i brzinu oporavka znatno utječe pravovremena dijagnostika oštećenja. Većina oboljele djece oporavi se kroz primjenu fizioterapijskih postupaka, koje je potrebno početi primjenjivati što ranije. Uz razne postupke oporavka, bitno je i educirati roditelje, kako bi oni nastavili kontinuirano raditi s djecom.
Abstract (english)
A lesion of the brachial plexus at birth most often occurs due to manipulation of the head during childbirth. Clinical signs are the criteria by which conservative or operative treatment is determined. The incidence of birth defects of the plexus brachialis ranges from 0.38 to 3 per 1000 live births in developed countries, and in underdeveloped and developing countries 5 per 1000 births. A nerve injury's severity is determined by how many nerves are involved and how much each nerve has been damaged. In most cases, children recover trough physiotherapy intervention that should be started as soon as possible. Education of parents is also important, in addition to various recovery procedures, in order to continue working with children continuously.
