Rotator cuff tear is one of the most common shoulder injuries. The most susceptible ruptures are ruptures of m. supraspinatus and m. infraspinatus, while ruptures of m. teres minor and m. subscapularis are somewhat less common. The aim of this final paper is to establish the reasons for the rupture and design a rehabilitation protocol for a person who has undergone arthroscopic reconstruction. Through the division of ruptures into posterior (which is also divided into complete and partial) and anterior groups, the patterns that cause rupture of individual muscles of the rotator cuff will be listed. Furthermore, the conclusion is that the rupture of the rotator cuff most often affects the elderly and people who do hard physical work or athletes who play ball sports. The injury of the rotator cuff is determined by a diagnostic ultrasound and method based on tests performed after the patient provides insight into the difficulties and pain in daily activities. Most often, the patient complains of pain by raising the arm, which can spread along the upper arm, and there is a reduced range of motion in the shoulder joint and muscle weakness. Rotator cuff treatment is performed using conservative and/or operative treatment methods. It is important to approach each patient individually and help reduce pain and restore or increase range of motion. For this purpose, cryotherapy, interference currents, TENS device, and ultrasound are used. Physiotherapy exercises after arthroscopic reconstruction are performed according to the rehabilitation protocol for weeks. The therapy exercises will be mentioned and examples of these exercises will be illustrated.
